New Years Eve

Hunter and I ventured to Lakeside again to see his brother Nate and his family for the new year.

It was a fabulous evening/ day trip.  NYE we had some good eats, good company and a cozy night in the snow.  We topped it all off with some killer fireworks.  Which are even better in the snow for some reason.

Snow and blue skies!  So pretty on our drive up.  And Payson gave Hunter a personalized welcome.

The sweet babies enjoying one of their few New Year's to date.

The grown up boys like those fireworks too.  And I used about 29 sparklers myself.

We took a drive up the hills to sled for New Year's Day.
Snow is the worst.
- driving in the snow- the worst.
- putting on snow clothes- the worst
- climbing up the hill in your snow clothes to sled- the worst
- actually sweating too much while you're sledding so you're this weird HOT/COLD- the worst
-taking off all the snow clothes before you get in the car- the worst

But now to be balanced and optimistic....
Finally on top of the hill, sitting in the sled ready to go down- THE BEST
Sipping hot cocoa in a warm home while it's snowing outside- THE BEST
Having an awesome new car (last June) that knows how to tear it up in the snow- THE BEST
Wearing a sky blue coat that still fits me after 10 years- THE BEST
Sledding with your best friend/ lover/ hot man- THE BEST

Back to School Eve

On this evening before the next semester of school starts in this extremely challenging year for me- I feel good.  So good.

I am so blessed in life.

Winter break couldn't have been better for me.  Every day was eventful, enjoyable and relaxing in some way.

I have a very positive outlook on this semester.

I am going to be nicer in some ways.

I am going to be more strict in other ways.

But I am going to smile a lot more.

And I am going to teach these children to love music.
