Thankful for Core Memories

Hunter finally got me to sit down at watch a movie this weekend.
Inside Out was cute and the concept has got me thinking all week!
What are my Core Memories?
Mix that with the reflective thankfulness of this time of year
and I wanted to write some stuff down.

Here's a short list that comes to me quickly:

1. Family
2. Friendship
3. Music
4. Food/ cooking and eating
5. Order
6. Church and the Gospel

I literally just typed those out in about ten seconds.

It was easy to locate my "core" by what fills me up each week.

Today I will write about Family.  In the next week or so before Thanksgiving I'll touch on each one.

Beating heart

It amazes me that the little heartbeat we heard at only six weeks is still the heart beat that beats inside Henry every day. And will be the heartbeat that takes him through his life.

On Being Sick, By Henry

When I am sick I wear pajamas all day.

I do not sleep through the night like I usually do.

I suck my thumb even more.

I do not like my rice cereal.

But I still like eating with mommy.

I take naps with mommy in bed.

I hate getting my nose cleaned out.

I love to snuggle.

And I still smile a lot.

Luckily I have not had a fever.

And luckily I have my mommy to take care of me all day.

 I love her.

Picnic at the Temple

The King and I were shopping last week and he was being honestly such a rockstar.  Like smiling and laughing in his stroller, taking naps in the car, quietly playing with toys as I tried on clothes.

Thanks, Baby Henry.

When it was time for Little Man to eat, I thought it would be sweet to take him to the Temple for a picnic instead of going straight home.  So we did.  And by picnic I mean we sat on the steps in a quiet cool spot and Henry nursed under cover.

Then he came out and let his fuzzy hair wisp in the air.  Arizona is finally throwing some beautiful days at us!  Henry loooooves the wind.

And cue photo shoot!

Halloween 2015

Henry- King of All Wild Things (Max)
Hunter and Me- Wild Things

We had an amazing first Halloween as a family of three!
Our costumes came together a few days before the ward Fall Festival.  We were in charge of the Festival again this year.  It was probably the best one yet! We had a yummy dinner, dunk tank, petting zoo, DJ, activity booths, and a kid's train!
The weather was so right on this year.  Perfectly cool.

Henry was a hit.  He looked probably the most adorable he's ever looked.
He was totally okay being in that costume all night Friday night and then Saturday night too!

Saturday night- actual Halloween- we trick or treated at grandparent's houses, strolled a block party with some friends, hit a great Halloween party and then snuggled to watch Hocus Pocus with Hunter's family.

It's was spook-tacular.  Lol.

Six Months Today

Six months today.

 And sick!

Poor King.

Henry sucks his thumb. He laughs, sings and happy screams every day. He's crawling, eating solids and growing two front teeth like royalty.  Loves to put anything in his mouth.  Still sleeps through the night.  Thank you baby.

Hunter and I talk daily about how much we love him.

Half a year!

We love you sooooo much Henry.

Cereal for Henry

Okay so it's happening.  Henry is starting to be a grown up.  A few Fridays ago we gave him rice cereal and he was so into it.  He was basically saying "What took you so long!"
He's was a few days shy of 6 months and this is pretty average to start solids but I feel like every other baby born around him has been on them for a month or two!
I really ached when we decided to start because I just love the ease of nursing.
No prep.  No clean up.  Easy on the go feeding.
Now it's a whole circus to get food into Henry's belly.
But that's okay.
Because I love him so much.
And it's opened up so much more cuteness from this kid.
I didn't think that could happen.

Here's the play by play...

Spoon coming in.  Great form with his mouth opening and all.

The cereal has entered the baby.

Reaction:

Priceless.  Every parent knows their baby is the cutest at everything.

 And the aftermath.

Oh little Henny, your cheeks!
