Ode to the Internet

Today I am thankful for the internet and all my favorite websites.

Holy cow- I am truly truly super grateful that I live in a time where the internet and all it's conveniences and information and entertainment is thriving.

My life is ENRICHED by the overflow of information.  There are many critics who attack the internet, specifically information sites, search engines and whoa boy- social media.

I say- I love it.

Recently- I'm addicted to the Frank Sinatra station on Pandora:
It's the perfect pre-Christmas, calming, Fall, homey, classic radio station.

Years ago we couldn't choose our radio stations- or for that matter choose WHICH radio service to use (spotify, grooveshark, pandora, last.fm, yahoo radio etc.)
It's like a dream.  Literally- I dreamed about stuff like this when I was younger.

There are tons of sites I could "ode" to, but the only other really worth mentioning is GOOGLE

This site really is like magic- plus all their supplemental programs and services- I mean WOW.

My students think I'm nuts when I tell them that Google didn't come out until I was in high school and even then we weren't sure what to do with it.

Seriously- I feel a whole post coming about Google.... so - for today I'll just leave you with their festive font for the election on my google app.

I LOVE GOOGLE.

Ma

Tonight I'm very thankful for my mother. Yes I did a post about my parents. But mom needs her own. I'm so grateful for the peace she always brings to me when I can talk to her.

She made an extra trip to see me tonight and it was perfect.

I love her so super much.

Water, Power and trash pick up

It's a modern day miracle to have water come out of shiny faucets on demand, power snap on with a flip of a switch and our disgusting trash get picked up and hauled away once a week.

Do you realize how much of our time is spared with these fabulous conveniences??

I AM THANKFUL!!!

**honorable mention to garbage disposals, flushing toilets and automatic ice machines.

My Parents.

Today I am extremely thankful for my parents. I truly have the best parents ever. This afternoon Hunter and I got to spend time with them at the temple and then a yummy dinner.

They are always always always there for us and do soooooo much for us.

I had a friend in college who helped me realize that it is one of the greatest blessings in life to have parents who love each other. Totally.

Here's my cute parents today as we left Tia Rosas.

Love them.

Thankful for them.

Witchy Woman

Greenfield and Mesquite (schools where I work) both have a fundraiser on Halloween.

Teachers are allowed to dress up (not the kids- thank heavens) and then the students "vote" for their favorite teacher and her costume with dimes, quarters, and dollars.

All the money is donated to charities, but the teacher that gets the most cash wins and she gets some pretty killer prizes.

I did not win.

But that's okay- because I split between two schools there's really no chance for me to win.  I don't have as many students as the other teachers.

Anyways, this year has been a *challenge*.  And as I was sorting through our array of costumes, all I wanted to wear was my witch costume.

It's very fitting.  And I was in character all day.

Here's me at Greenfield in Boys Choir teaching the young men to be warlocks.

Goodbye, Hale

Tonight I'm thankful for the few months I've been able to house manage at Hale Theatre in Gilbert.

I love being able to welcome guests and help them have a fabulous experience.

It's a happening place and I always see familiar faces which makes it even better.

The management has been amazing to me and been OVER THE TOP flexible with my schedule.

But, as much fun as it actually is, it's still work and in this super busy time of year (especially for a musician) I have to give something up.

So, good-bye for now, Hale with all the staff, producers, directors, and office management who have shown me that THIS is where I want to work after I'm done teaching.

See you in the Summer!

PS- See their most famous show- a great Christmas-ey night on the town... A Christmas Carol.

"She's got legs you idiot!"

Happy November and Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm super hoping I can really post a thankful post everyday this month.

Today I am grateful for my legs.
I'm grateful for my strong, healthy, capable legs that take me everywhere.

I'm grateful that they took me around the track eight times tonight at the Gilbert Public School run against bullying.

And I'm grateful for the turkey leg I'll be enjoying THREE weeks from today. Thanksgiving is early, folks.
