Twelve Bar Blues

Geez.  Today was hard.  And there really is no reason.

Maybe I'm getting some 3rd trimester emotions?

I have cried three times so far.  Cried hard.

First because I was hungry and I didn't know what to make for lunch.  (Like I was bawling.)

Second because I was so tired and I missed Hunter.  (Again, sobs.)

Third because I went for a walk and Hey Jude came on my iphone.  And that made me cry.

But the last cry was less pathetic.

Because how long has it been since I've listened to Hey Jude really loud without any distractions?

I think that should make anyone cry.

Now I am writing this- then going to make dinner to some really loud Beatles.

(Me as an infant with sleepy tears in my eyes.  This is kind of how I felt today.)

Valentimes 2015

In the morning we moved our house back because we got new carpet.
Then we slowly got ready.
(when did it start to take us 2 hours to get out the door?! And this is BEFORE A BABY!)
And registered for baby at Target.  And had lunch.  And got each other some Valentine's gifts.  And I got some new shirts at Gap.  Because every week my clothes don't fit anymore.  Yay!
And then checked out strollers at Buy Buy Baby.  And whew.  That store is overwhelming.

Then later-

Some friends in our ward invited us to an evening out on Tempe Town Lake with one of the city's boat rentals.  The four couples each packed their own picnic dinner and set out for a private lake cruise at sunset.  It was darling.  And very very relaxing.  I would totally do it again.
Because I got to put my feet up the whole time and snuggle with Hunter.

New Carpet

I knew this had to happen this year.  But I didn't think it would be right away!

But after seeing the filthy carpet after we moved everything off....

I see it is definitely time.

Ew!

All of last week, we (again mostly Hunter because I am pregnant and can barely lift anything) moved the whole house into the kitchen and garage.

Thursday we had some wonderful friends and family help Hunter move the large furniture-including the piano- and then Friday the new stuff was installed!

And it is even better than I thought it was going to be!
All this "moving" and money was WORTH IT!
Oh my goodness.  It feels like a new house.
And truly, It's helped me really sort through our stuff even more and get rid of tons more.
I am also able to slowly organize each closet and room before baby comes.
Because everything is in boxes.

We've had so much help from friends and family as we basically moved in and out of our house in two days!  Thank you, guys.

30th Birthday

Last Thursday I turned 30!  Honestly.  I am so happy that I am 30.  And I'm even more happy that I am 30 and pregnant!  The hardest part about being 30 though, is realizing that my 20s are over.
But on we go.

Hunter took the day off- which is the first time he's done that.  It was so great!  And such a treat just to have him around all day and not leave me.  (For work which I am so grateful he goes to work everyday.)

My parents met us at Matt's for a delicious breakfast!
From there- Hunter and I stole a quick look at Last Chance.  Then we drove around Phoenix's Arcadia neighborhood.  Gaulking at all the gorgeous houses.  I would love to live there some day.  Hunter had never seen these neighborhoods.  I think he's sold.

After a small visit to Scottsdale Mall (in which baby boy got new clothes and mom did not...) we headed back to Gilbert.  The weather was actually so cozy and fun.  Rain and clouds are always welcome in Arizona.  I loved that Hunter and I were driving around it in for hours.  It was such a treat to just be with him in that confined space to talk and laugh.

Got all my free foods at Joe's restaurants.

Then Honey and I got pedicures.  This was Hunter's first!  And he looooooved it.  He barely talked to me because he was so relaxed.

We also snagged free birthday treats at Sweet Tooth Fairy.  And I finally found a maternity shirt before we headed home!

Here's my fresh toes and my new shoes from Last Chance:

That evening we had a bunch of friends and family over for milkshakes.  I love ending a quiet long birthday by seeing all the people I love most.  And milkshakes.
Thank you to everyone who came over!

And last and not least- my favorite gift is always the love notes.  Mom wrote me my birthday letter that always makes me cry.  And I found this card on my pillow from Hunter which is so tender and sweet and also made me cry.  Those are the best gifts.
