Abuelito's Birthday

The day after we got home from the beach is was DAD's birthday!

My dad is honestly one of the most positive, funny, hardworking, generous,
happy people I know.

He looooves babies and kids and this probably just about the best time in his life that he has a grandson.  He is Dad to me and Abuelito to Henry.

We gathered at our family's favorite breakfast place- Matt's Big Breakfast in Phoenix.
Dad loves the eggs benedict which is a Thursday special which just happened to be his birthday!

Let's just take a moment to zoom in on Henry's face.

What Hunter's Been Up To

First of all.  Hunter had a birthday! He is now 28.  Little man.

I got him some presents.

He's been wanting to swim more at the gym.  So I got him some swimming apparatus.  I realllllly should have gone with the speedo too.

His favorite Costco snacks... gummy bears and crumbled bacon.

Looking all good and ready to swim!  Really tho.  Are his goggles and cap too small? yikes.

Birthday dinner at his family's house.  My parents came along too.  Whoever's birthday is that week gets to choose Sunday dinner.  Hunter always chooses chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn.  And cheesecake with canned blueberry topping.
Everyone is singing Happy Birthday to him above.

Enjoying his cheesecake:

Back to the actual birthday...  We met his parents and sister for some yummy breakfast and the weather was PERFECT.

My 33 week belly is hiding behind the picnic table.

Hunter went to work on his actual birthday but took Friday off instead.   So we did some fun errands (not fun to me.) but he loved it.  Like Harbor Freight Tools.

Then we drove out to the Phoenix Temple.  We decided we should go before we have a baby or we might not ever go! It is FAR AWAY.  Traffic was bad but we still made it on time! Whew!

When we came out the sky looked like this:

And then last Saturday my Man Your Man Should Be (as he like to call himself) took our old 9-drawer dresser and painted it for baby boy.

Hunter has perfected his working space.  And finally got serious with an air respirator so he doesn't die.

He set's up real good.

This is him putting the finishing touches and new hardware on.

Ta da!

This photo is in the dark garage after the sun went down.  But there will be LOTS more nursery photos coming very soon that will highlight this beautiful dresser!

Great Job, Hunter man.  And Happy Birthday!

I love you.

30th Birthday

Last Thursday I turned 30!  Honestly.  I am so happy that I am 30.  And I'm even more happy that I am 30 and pregnant!  The hardest part about being 30 though, is realizing that my 20s are over.
But on we go.

Hunter took the day off- which is the first time he's done that.  It was so great!  And such a treat just to have him around all day and not leave me.  (For work which I am so grateful he goes to work everyday.)

My parents met us at Matt's for a delicious breakfast!
From there- Hunter and I stole a quick look at Last Chance.  Then we drove around Phoenix's Arcadia neighborhood.  Gaulking at all the gorgeous houses.  I would love to live there some day.  Hunter had never seen these neighborhoods.  I think he's sold.

After a small visit to Scottsdale Mall (in which baby boy got new clothes and mom did not...) we headed back to Gilbert.  The weather was actually so cozy and fun.  Rain and clouds are always welcome in Arizona.  I loved that Hunter and I were driving around it in for hours.  It was such a treat to just be with him in that confined space to talk and laugh.

Got all my free foods at Joe's restaurants.

Then Honey and I got pedicures.  This was Hunter's first!  And he looooooved it.  He barely talked to me because he was so relaxed.

We also snagged free birthday treats at Sweet Tooth Fairy.  And I finally found a maternity shirt before we headed home!

Here's my fresh toes and my new shoes from Last Chance:

That evening we had a bunch of friends and family over for milkshakes.  I love ending a quiet long birthday by seeing all the people I love most.  And milkshakes.
Thank you to everyone who came over!

And last and not least- my favorite gift is always the love notes.  Mom wrote me my birthday letter that always makes me cry.  And I found this card on my pillow from Hunter which is so tender and sweet and also made me cry.  Those are the best gifts.

The man turns 27

My Everything's birthday was yesterday. And the most important thing I can record from this past year is that Hunter truly became my best friend.  We've always been in love and enjoyed each other but this year we just had a ball.  Happy birthday, friend! And lover. 😘

Golden years

My honey. Hunter. Threw me the most sweet, well thought out, perfect surprise golden birthday party. I turned 29 on January 29th. And when I came home from being away for one hour-only one hour- hunter and our families and friends had put together a full blown party at out house!  I was completely surprised and so happy. Probably my favorite birthday I've ever had. I love partying. And I love being with my favorite people. Hunter really did the best job and knows me so well. He put together the entire "golden" spread of party food, got tons of golden candy, decorations and favors. He put the party lights up in the backyard- which I know from experience takes way longer than an hour- how DID he do that part? I still wonder.  Had food from my favorite Italian deli- and tons of play on word golden snacks. When I thanked my mom and his mom for all their help they sincerely told me that hunter had honestly done all of it on his own. Awwwwwww. My boo.

I also bought myself a new birthday purse. Got a killer giant cupcake from a darling friend from church. A pedicure with mama. And some ikea stars in their golden best.
